A groundbreaking milestone has been achieved in global photovoltaic research: UtmoLight's 0.72m² perovskite solar modules, produced on its 150MW pilot line, demonstrated zero degradation for over 950 seconds under rigorous Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) tests, certified by the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the modules achieved a full-area steady-state efficiency of 18.1% (equivalent to 130.5W output), smashing the previous global record for meter-scale perovskite modules. This achievement not only underscores UtmoLight's technological leadership in perovskite industrialization but also validates the feasibility of large-scale commercialization through its deliverable, mass-production-ready processes.
Technological Breakthrough: The "Dual-Helix" Evolution of Efficiency and Mass Production Technology
The modules certified by NREL this time adopt the mass production process that can be continuously produced. Only the "efficiency and stability synergy" technology that can be mass-produced, delivered and is both stable and efficient can truly create value for customers. Utmolight has continuously improved the "Utmorigin+" technology, which has enabled the efficiency and stability of mass-produced modules to continuously improve in a coordinated manner. At the same time, by leveraging its outstanding production line design and integration capabilities, it has continuously optimized the production line structure, enabling new processes to be introduced and adapted to existing production lines at a lower cost and with simplified procedures, achieving 24-hour continuous and stable production. This technological breakthrough represents that Utmolight's laboratory technological innovation, production line process development and process technology integration capabilities have reached a new level, marking another key leap in the transition of perovskite photovoltaic technology from laboratory innovation to industrialization.
Notably, UtmoLight has always aimed for a stable and coordinated "product performance" and been guided by "delivery capability". As early as November 2023, its modules had passed the full set of IEC 61215/61730 stability test certifications, with a power output of 95W (full area efficiency of 13.2%). In November 2024, the power of the modules that passed the IEC 61215/61730 certifications was further increased to 120W (full area efficiency of 16.7%), making it the most efficient module globally to have passed the IEC stability test certifications. This time, the steady-state efficiency (MPPT) has jumped to 18.1%, further verifying UtmoLight’s continuous optimization capabilities in perovskite mass production processes - from reducing film defect rates to improving yield rates, from optimizing process parameters to upgrading equipment compatibility, every step is anchored to the actual needs of industrialization.
Empirical Validation: Building Customer Trust with Real Power Generation Data
The commercialization of perovskite modules hinges on the stability of the products. Only by first addressing the stability issue can the "gold content" of efficiency be meaningful. In the current absence of dedicated certification standards, the stability of perovskite modules needs to be verified through a comprehensive reliability validation. To this end, UtmoLight has established a "three-dimensional integration" all-round module stability verification system, including IEC, ISOS, and outdoor field validation, to ensure the long-term stability of the modules.
In addition to passing the rigorous IEC61215/IEC61730 certification tests, UtmoLight modules have also passed the "light and heat" accelerated aging test of 1 Sun/85°C/1000h and the 200KWh UV accelerated aging test in accordance with the relevant test standards of ISOS. In terms of long-term outdoor verification, the self-built power station has been in continuous operation for over 16 months with almost no power attenuation of the modules; the third-party verification power station (Yinchuan base) in cooperation with the National Photovoltaic Quality Inspection and Testing Center (CPVT) has been in operation for more than half a year, with very stable power generation data and the module power test also indicating almost zero decline in conversion efficiency.
UtmoLight's perovskite modules have been commercially deployed in multiple regions across China, including Anhui, Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Hebei, covering a wide range of climatic conditions such as high temperatures, high humidity, and strong irradiation. In these projects, the modules have demonstrated outstanding stability and excellent power generation performance. In May 2024, the modules completed their first overseas export in the industry, earning global recognition for their technical prowess.
UtmoLight remains committed to its mission of "Making the World Greener with Energy”, constantly enhance product capabilities, and jointly explore the blue ocean of perovskite industrialization with global partners, ensuring that every perovskite module delivers tangible returns for solar power plants worldwide.
